Individual therapy for adults & older teens

Joseph Campbell

“I always feel uncomfortable when people speak about ordinary mortals because I’ve never met an ordinary man, woman, or child.”

Therapy for relational trauma

Specializing in anxiety, parenting, stress/burnout, self compassion, women's issues, childhood trauma, CPTSD, PTSD, and dissociative disorders such as DID & OSDD.

I specialize in working with adults who experienced difficult and unstable childhoods. Causes of this instability might have been intergenerational trauma, emotionally immature parents, abuse and/or neglect, parental substance use and/or mental health issues, spiritual or religious trauma, financial insecurity, immigration, or military brats.

The key themes you will find in working with me are awareness and choice. Mindfulness helps you become aware of the way your thoughts, emotions, and body are trying to communicate your needs. Then you can create pauses for choice in how you interact with yourself and within your relationships. I utilize an integrated approach founded in Mindfulness and informed by Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Trauma Model Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work (including IFS), and somatic approaches.

I have lived experience, training, and counseling experience that make me a qualified counselor for parents, LGTBQ+, Neurodivergent, and ethically non-monogamous people. I am experienced working with individuals with complex trauma symptoms that are diagnosed as Borderline Personality Disorder and Dissociative Disorders (including DID and OSDD).

Providing true trauma therapy is important to me so I believe in training and learning from my clients. I am a program therapist at Trauma Recovery Institute and am certified in Trauma Model Therapy. I am a Certified Trauma Professional. I am currently training in EMDR and available to process single incidents that leave you feeling distressed.

“Unlike self-criticism, which asks if you’re good enough, self-compassion asks what’s good for you? It taps into your inner desire to be healthy and happy.
